    Programme Leader & Team Lead

    "The MSc programme in Sustainable Energy & Energy Access has a goal of nurturing a new generation of energy professionals who take a multidisciplinary approach and holistic view of clean energy in finding innovative solutions to energy access and sustainable development.

    This programme was developed under the Transforming Energy Access Learning Partnership (TEA-LP) project with funding from UK Aid / DFID. The programme offers an integrated set of core and elective courses from departments across the School of Engineering, the School of Business & Economics, the School of Arts & Social Sciences, and the School of Sciences & Aerospace Studies.

    The programme responds directly to four fundamental enablers of energy access:

    1. Clean Energy Technologies: Aimed at household-level access as well as access for productive uses in agriculture and enterprise;
    2. Energy Delivery Mechanisms & Business Models: Innovative responses to energy distribution and mini-grid deployment challenges;
    3. Consumer Environment & Demand Stimulation: Understanding consumption habits, technology adoption patterns, and end-user marketing innovations;
    4. Policy & Regulatory Mechanisms: Frameworks to promote clean energy access markets, energy tariff setting, and regulatory adaptation.

    Apart from technical skills, this programme places strong importance on soft skills. Graduates will become innovators, entrepreneurs, effective communicators, problem solvers, and leaders in the energy sector. Students will engage in collaborative learning, laboratory activities, computer simulations, field exploratory tours, community-based learning activities, and exchange programmes to gain a deeper understanding and practical experience of real-life problems in the energy access sector." - Prof. Eng.
