The School of Engineering at Moi University, in collaboration with the African Centre of Excellence in Phytochemicals, Textiles and Renewable Energy (ACEII-PTRE) and the Transforming Energy Access Learning Partnership (TEA-LP), invites applications for admission into the Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainable Energy & Energy Access.

Programme Highlights:

• Goal: Bridge the skills gap in Africa's energy access sector towards achieving UN SDG 7.
• Structure: 2-year program combining coursework, practical lab simulations, community engagement, and thesis research.
• Eligibility: Holders of a Bachelor's degree (Second Class Upper or GPA 3.0+) in Engineering, Energy, Physics, Economics, or Applied Mathematics.
• Scholarships: Competitive partial and living stipends available through the Liechtenstein REED / TEA-LP initiative.

MSc SEEA students engaged in an intensive practical bootcamp with leading energy industry partners to solve real-world decentralized energy challenges.

As part of the practical and entrepreneurial orientation of the MSc in Sustainable Energy & Energy Access, students participated in an interactive bootcamp alongside clean energy industry leaders, technology providers, and market practitioners.

The bootcamp provided students with hands-on experience in off-grid solar system design, mini-grid financing models, bio-energy testing, and community adoption strategies. Collaborating directly with industry mentors ensures that Moi University graduates possess market-relevant skills aligned with employer demands.

In March 2025, six postgraduate students from the 4th cohort of the MSc in Sustainable Energy & Energy Access program at Moi University officially started their international exchange program in Norway for one academic semester.

The selected exchange students, Patrick Sugut, Sharon Chepkorir, Laura Mikali, Isaack Rono, Garry Musonye, and Kituyi Mulupi are undertaking advanced coursework and joint thesis research at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). This international partnership underscores Moi University's commitment to offering global exposure, cross-cultural learning, and cutting-edge research opportunities in clean energy technologies and access models.
