Prof. Augustine Makokha has a PhD and MSc (Engineering) from University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Renewable Energy Professional. He is the Head of Department of Energy Engineering, Coordinator for renewable energy projects at World Bank funded ACEII Project at Moi University, Coordinator for the AfDB funded project for postgraduate training and lead participant in HEPSSA Project at Moi University. He is involved in development of professional short courses for capacity building in the energy sector. He is a chair and grant holder for various research projects with research interests in energy systems modelling and optimization, CFD and Minerals Engineering.
Prof. Bernard Nassiuma
Prof. Bernard Nassiuma

Prof. Bernard Nassiuma holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship Development (Kenyatta University), MPhil in Entrepreneurship (Moi University) BCom (Hons) Panjab University, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management and Diploma in Applied Psychology. He has vast experience in venture start-up and enterprise development. He is a Associate Professor of entrepreneurship, Chairman of Department of Entrepreneurship and Project Management and Business Development specialist of the Moi University Incubator. His research interests focus on the following areas: Creativity and innovation, Gender and entrepreneurship, Venture start-ups and Renewable energy. He has supervised over 65 postgraduate students and examined numerous postgraduate dissertations from local and foreign universities.
Dr. Jacqueline Makatiani
Dr. Jacqueline Makatiani

Dr. Jacqueline has a PhD (Applied Sciences) and MSc (Applied Genetics and Pest Management) from Kyushu University, Japan. She is the Deputy Incubation Center Leader, and Coordinator of Internships, Short Courses and Industrial linkages at Africa Center of Excellence in Phytochemicals, Textile and Renewable Energy. She is a member of University Quality Assurance Committee, and has participated in designing and conducting of graduate tracer study and market needs assessment for curriculum development. She supervises postgraduate students in Environmental Biology, Plant Health, Bioenergy and Phytochemistry. Her research interests are: Bioprospecting of useful industrial microorganisms, Pesticides compatibility in Food Production Systems; Food losses/wastage; and Biocontrol.
Dr. Pacifica Mining
Dr. Pacifica Mining

Dr Pacifica Mining has a Ph.D in environmental studies – Human Ecology from University of Eldoret and M.Phil. in Development Studies from Moi university, Kenya. She is a registered Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit Expert (EIA/EA) and Member of Environmental Institute of Kenya (EIK). She is coordinator of post graduate programs in development studies. Her research interests include: Clean Energy initiatives, Use of Indigenous knowledge for sustainable livelihoods and gender mainstreaming. She has supervised over ten postgraduate students and examined numerous research theses. She is also involved in student mentorship programs and community empowerment and development projects.
Mr. Kennedy S. Munyole
Mr. Kennedy S. Munyole

Kennedy Munyole teaches renewable energy at Kibabii University. He is currently working on a biogas project for rural communities. He taught Mechanical Engineering at Eldoret Polytechnic, worked on projects in energy efficiency, PV water pumping and biogas plants. Munyole holds a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University (UK) and Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from The Kenya Polytechnic. He has been involved in consultancy work in TVET sector for Oil and Gas, with work assignments in Uganda and Tanzania. Munyole is enthusiastic about renewable energy, automation, electric mobility and appropriate technologies for sustainable living.
